One of Triplett’s sponsors, Jason Sterk who owns Reaves Buildings is coming together with Matt Triplette to bring you guys this one-of-a-kind event! This is the first annual Matt Triplett Invitational, and it will be killer! Unfortunately, Triplett recently had to have surgery before the finals, he had a bone spur in his hip. Triplett’s recovery time is about four and a half months. Triplett’s sponsor Sterk came up with the idea of this event to keep Triplett busy and stay motivated and it’s been one of the best decisions. Triplett stated,

“It reminds me a lot about bull riding, it takes a lot of dedication to put on something that is good and something you think is going to be an event for people to enjoy including the contractors and bull riders.”

Bolton is sponsoring the afterparty and helping make this event a night you won’t forget! Doors open at 6:00 pm and the event is at 7:00 pm both nights.

Matt Triplett grew up riding bulls, his dad rode bulls and introduced him. Triplett stated,

“My dad was my superhero growing up, and I thought that was the coolest thing in the world, so it didn’t take long to pick up what he did. He taught me everything, yeah I loved it, it was awesome!”

Starting at 8 years old, Triplett got onto his first steer and has been hooked on it ever since. In 2013, Triplett made it to his first World Finals, and everything took off from there. He’s made it to the finals 7 times now and has dedicated his whole life to the PBR. Triplett has learned so much about bull riding, has been able to travel and compete with some of the best riders in the world, the PBR has been such an amazing experience for him.

Triplett’s favorite thing about riding is the adrenaline rush, the atmosphere you get to be in, and the situations you get dealt with. Bull riders don’t always know what bull they’re going to get. It’s just like how life is, you never know what is going to happen next. Bull riding has taught Triplett to set goals, work hard, and be dedicated to everything he does in life. Triplett stated,

“Bull riding has taken me everywhere, it’s the best job in the world, probably the most dangerous job in the world but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I love it.”

Triplett wants to share his passion with the community and his goal is that everyone attending this event walks away saying they had an amazing time, and that they had a fun-filled night. Triplett wants to continue putting together bull riding events. Triplett stated,

“I’ve ridden bulls for a long time, and still have 4 or 5 years left in me. Once I retire from bull riding I want to do something that pushes me and drives me to work hard each and every day to be successful.”

About the Author:

Biography:

Howdy, I'm Megan deFabry. I grew up in Reno, Nevada, but since 2017 my heart has called Texas home. I now reside in Austin, Texas since 2020. I'm driven by my faith, cherished relationships with family and friends, and my professional ambitions. I'm passionate about digital marketing and journalism, especially the wide-open spaces of America's Western lifestyle, the grit of agriculture, the excitement of rodeo, and the heart of country music.

For nearly a decade, I've been sharing this way of life through storytelling. And like any good cowboy tale, there's a loyal sidekick, my little Dachshund, Frank, who I adopted from a shelter in New Braunfels, Texas, back in 2018. He keeps me grounded, reminding me to chase horizons and savor life's simple joys.

I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs and a minor in Mass Communication. My major taught me to decode consumer behavior, which is crucial for marketing, while my minor sharpened my storytelling skills. Since then, I've spent years mastering SEO and content strategy, staying ahead in a fast-moving field. My work even caught the eye of Cowboy Lifestyle Network's CTO, Irish Padmore, who recognized me for contributing to his research on Consumer Behavior in the Age of AI.

Since 2018, I've been honored to work at Cowboy Lifestyle Network. Now as Editor-in-Chief writing, editing, and publishing articles that capture the cowboy spirit, crafting strategies rooted in Western values, and building real client connections. Guided by ethical journalism, I aim to tell stories that resonate and reflect the unsung heroes of the Western spirit.
