The Miss Rodeo America organization and pageant selects one young lady to serve as the ambassador and ideal spokesperson for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and also provides educational opportunities for the other young women who compete in the pageant. Contestants are eligible for a total of $53,000 in educational scholarships. The annual Miss Rodeo America Pageant is showcased in the “City of Lights” in Las Vegas, NV in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The Pageant hosts stunning, talented cowgirls from across the country who have already spent the last year as the reigning queen for their representative states.
The girls are judged on numerous categories including: personality, appearance, horsemanship and rodeo knowledge, public speaking, personal interviewing, horsemanship, knowledge of rodeo and equine science, current event awareness, photogenic, and overall professionalism. The week long pageant concludes with the crowning of the next years Miss Rodeo America.
The newly crowned, 2013 leading lady of Professional Rodeo is Chenae Shiner, of Roosevelt, Utah. She received the crown on December 12, 2012 at the conclusion of the pageant at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Chanae served as Miss Rodeo Utah 2012, and is prepared to travel more than 100,000 miles during her new reign of 2013 Miss Rodeo America representing the PRCA.

Chanae is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Radiologic Sciences from Weber State University, with a special emphasis in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Computed Tomography. She is awarded a $22,500 educational scholarship at the end of her reign that will be able to help further her educational goals. Also awarded to the newly crowned Miss Rodeo America is a wardrobe of Wrangler jeans and shirts, Justin boots, Bailey hats, Silver Mounted Court’s Saddle, and an official Miss Rodeo America trophy buckle from Montana Silversmiths.
Landstrom’s Original Black Hills Gold Creations also awards a wardrobe of jewelry to accompany the perpetual Miss Rodeo America crown.
“I remember traveling to rodeos with my family. While my parents prepared to compete in their events, I watched the rodeo queens. For me, queens embraced the spirit of rodeo, never hesitating to turn a spectator into a true fan,” Shiner explains. “I knew then that I not only wanted to be a rodeo competitor, but an ambassador!”
Miss Rodeo America, Inc., developed in 1955, enriches the lives of all contestants, but selects one qualified young lady to serve as a goodwill ambassador to promote the western heritage and traditions, but most of all to represent the greatest sport with class, integrity, and grace.
