Most Recognized Rodeos in the Country

There are few things better in this country than throwing on a pair of them leather boots and going to watch some of the most recognized rodeos in the country. We’re talking about rodeos. Every year sees the most tantalizing rodeos that happen in the country, all of which keep you right on the edge of your seats and your heart pounding faster and faster. There are so many rodeos throughout the year it gets difficult to decide which ones are not to be missed out on. While it is a difficult decision to make indeed, we made the effort to put together a list of which ones we feel are the best rodeos in the USA. Whichever one of these you go to, you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun and get the most entertainment.

RFD-TV’s the American

While the action only lasts two days, arriving at The American takes a year’s worth of hard work. Prior to the event, there is an entire year’s worth of dedication by rodeo athletes as they travel from rodeo to rodeo to qualify for The Semi-Finals. The action comes together with the final performance, The American. Athletes from across the country and beyond will complete in seven high-action PRCA events. These events include bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc, team roping, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and barrel racing. Over the course of its qualifiers, Semi-Finals, and The American, RFD-TV has a total payout of $2.35 million dollars, truly making it “the world’s richest weekend in Western Sports.”

Gunnison Cattlemen’s Days

Recognized for being the #1 Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo in the country, Cattlemen’s Days is one of the most magical rodeos as well. When it comes to the actual rodeo performances, you can’t beat the Gunnison background but the rodeo action did not disappoint. Friday night was their Wrangler Patriot night and the local fire department volunteered their time and truck to hang one of the largest American flags I’ve ever seen over the arena. It gave me chills!

Cheyenne Frontier Days

Recognized nationally for being the “Grand daddy of em all”, Cheyenne Frontier Days™, is a 10-day event consisting of three categories for competitions; Rough-Stock Events (bareback, saddle bronc, and bull riding), Timed Events (Team and Tie-down Roping, Steer Wrestling, and Barrel Racing), and Racing on the Track (Wild Horse Races). It is one of the most prestigious summer rodeos, attracting thousands of people to the town of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

National Finals Rodeo

When you think of Las Vegas, your mind goes directly towards casinos, gambling and big money fights in the MGM Grand Arena. Well, every year you can get to see this city in Nevada in a more Western light. You can enjoy the best of the typical Las Vegas nightlife combined with the old fashioned country style with one of the best rodeos in the USA. Considered to be the Super Bowl of Rodeos, the National Finals Rodeo usually occurs in December every year and it is one rodeo that you do not want to miss out on.
