Touring guitarist to long-time session player, Adam Shoenfeld is the musician you didn’t know that you knew. Now, Shoenfeld is adding “solo artist” to his resume, releasing his debut solo project on January 28, 2022. For almost two decades, you’ve seen Adam perform on stage with legends such as Big & Rich and currently with Tim McGraw. If you’re a fan of Jason Aldean, you’ve also heard his impressive guitar skills on all of Aldean’s records. Since 2011, Shoenfeld has received seven nominations from the Academy of Country Music for Guitar Player of the Year. He’s also credited on more than 40 No. 1 country hits, including “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line. Now, for the first time, you’ll be able to hear Adam on his own record, All The Birds Sing.
Shoenfeld laughs as he tells the story of when he was offered a record deal as a duo with Aldean years ago, but he passed it up because it (respectfully) just wasn’t something he was interested in at the time. Taking on the title of session player as his main gig for a while, Adam used that time to hone his sound and curated a list of his own music that he one day hoped to let the world hear. Although he has been performing alongside country artists since 2004, Adam does not claim to be a “country artist.”
Now, blowing what everyone thinks of in terms of “genre” out of the water, Shoenfeld is taking music into his own hands and creating something unique. Taking inspiration from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, and many others, All The Birds Sing definitely doesn’t fit inside any one music box.
“I’m not quite sure what genre my music fits into, but I’m not sure I want it to fit into any one genre either,” Adam states.
The ten-track album is full of rock anthems and poetry, a lending way for listeners to gain insight into who Shoenfeld truly is as an artist.
Even though he’ll be on a big stage tour throughout 2022, you’ll still be able to find Adam performing solo across the country. Anyone who is a fan of the ’70s and ’80s style music, mixed with a little bit of classic and southern rock should be sure to follow Adam’s schedule for a stop near you as well as add his record to your playlist.
