Music Monday Featured Artist: Ben Burgess

Written by

Signing with Big Loud Records in 2021, singer-songwriter Ben Burgess has hit the ground running. Having written for country artists, specifically within the Big Loud family, for upwards of five years prior, Burgess had dreamed of being a vocalist himself. Many know him as a songwriter with credits on songs performed by HARDY, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, and more, but Burgess is a true artist in his own right.

Released on September 30th, his first album with Big Loud Records, Tears the Size of Texas is an album full of classic cowboy songs, murder ballads, and true stories. A true lyricist, Burgess paints images of love and heartbreak, wide-open skies, and nights on stage. His sultry cowboy sound mixed with modern stories, raspy vocals, and a style to match, captivate listeners in a unique way.

“I want people to know that these are true stories. I wanted this album to be full of personal experiences, stories that the audience can connect with and truly relate to.” Moving from LA to Nashville in 2014 was quite possibly one of the best decisions Burgess ever made. From writing pop music for artists such as Lil Wayne and the Jonas Brothers to penning hits like Whiskey Glasses by Morgan Wallen, Burgess says that he feels like he’s finally found his lane. “I love country music and the people it’s brought into my life. I’m excited to be on the road touring with these amazing artists and getting to know my fans! I get a lot of inspiration from traveling and think that continuing to meet people while I’m on the road will be a big factor in my writing of the next album.”

Currently on tour with Warren Zeiders, another classic cowboy country artist, Burgess is excited to share his new album with live audiences all over the States. Be on the lookout for his continued tour as well with Koe Wetzel and Jelly Roll, starting back in November.
