Country music newcomer, Drew Green, is still reeling from performing for the first time at the infamous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. As the opener for Mitchell Tenpenny, Green took the stage for the first time ever, which also happened to be his first time ever being inside the venue. Green says,
“I used to play 4 nights a week in Nashville, walking past the Ryman every night. I had plenty of opportunities to get tickets to shows there, but I decided that I didn’t want to even go inside until I was actually performing there. It was definitely emotional, I thought I was gonna tear up being in the moment, but I held it together and it was amazing. I can’t imagine getting used to that feeling.”
Drew’s new EP, Dirt Boy Vol. 2, is his story: a blue-collar life spent on the farm. Hoping to land his first radio single off the title track, Green is making moves in music that he had only ever dreamt of. Just coming off the first few weeks off the beginning of his first tour with headliner, Mitchell Tenpenny, Drew is taking a week off to rest and write up in the mountains of Northern Arizona. Recently adding six more dates to the rest of the tour, Drew can be seen across the midwest and east coast over the next two months.
The latest single to come from Drew’s new record, Cold Beer and Copenhagen, is a smooth catchy track that will have you relating in ways you don’t expect. We’ve all got bad habits that are hard to kick, that sometimes get in the way of the things that are actually good for us. Another song from Dirt Boy Vol. 2 (that came out earlier this year) is Hooch, a party song that is a must-add to any bonfire or tailgate playlist.
Currently working on releasing as many new tracks as possible, Green adds, “the new record is a good representation of me and my style. There’s a lot of fun songs on the record, including Hooch. If you liked Volume 1, you’re gonna love Volume 2. I hope everyone likes it and at the least, go listen to the title track, Dirt Boy.”
