Music Monday: New Sibling Group in Country Music, TRHibe, aka The Runaway Hamsters

Written by

If you are looking for a group that has lots of heart, tons of passion, endless creativity, and an aptitude for telling unique stories, look no further than TRHibe. This sibling group, who previously went by the name The Runaway Hamsters, has been making music together since 2015 and made their first official mark on the music scene with their debut single “A Little Country.” Over the past few years, they have continued to evolve and find their groove with the perfect balance of storytelling and fantasy. Their most recent release titled “Constantine” tells the story of an infamous bad guy, Santa Anna, who had a soft spot in his hardened heart for his child. TRHibe does a flawless job of sharing the side of the story that is rarely told. The story comes to life in the music video, where you become encompassed in the Western landscapes, captivating imagery, and stunning Western apparel from Double D Ranch. The group worked together beautifully and was really able to convey the perspective of Santa Anna.

When the siblings of TRHibe are asked about the best part of working together, they say, “We have performed together for so long it just feels natural, but there is also a strength we feel as a group since we automatically adjust and help one another.” But what are they doing when they aren’t on stage performing or in the studio laying down vocals? Each one has their own unique passions and interests.

First up is Abby Keen, a kind, curious, adventurous spirit with a love for artistry all things outdoors. Abby sings as well as plays the keyboard and piano. When she isn’t busy making music, she loves spending time in nature taking in the wildlife and beautiful scenery and photography it. Abby is as passionate about her love for the outdoors as she is for one of her favorite artists, Blake Shelton. She loves to listen to his music and draws inspiration from his storytelling.

With a nickname like Hollywood, you know Gabby Keen is a force to be reckoned with. She brings such kind and playful energy to the group along with a love for classic country such a Dolly Parton as well as an eclectic mix of all kinds of genres. Gabby sings and plays guitar, bass, and harmonica in the band. Her vibrant personality definitely adds a fun dynamic to the group.

Isabella Keen sings, plays drums, piano, and guitar so it’s safe to say she is a jack of all trades. She is a lover of a wide range of music, but one of her all-time favorites is Keith Urban. Her sweet and loving disposition lends itself well in her other passion as well, caring for her beloved horse. He is a Blue Roan AQHA horse. While he is officially registered under the name “Smooth Blu Pepto Cat,” he is lovingly known as Raisin.

Last but certainly not least, we have the brother of the group – Mr. Riley Keen. Riley is an exuberant character with lots of energy and passion. He plays electric guitar, piano, and sings in the band. Some of his favorite artists to listen to are Eric Church and Blake Shelton. Besides making music with his siblings, he loves being outdoors playing basketball, riding his cruiser, and enjoying nature.

These siblings’ unique personalities come together in perfect harmony when it comes to performing. They have already accomplished so much in their still early career including opening for multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer, performing at the famous Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room, and the CMA Music Festival, and releasing 22 original songs for their fans. They’ve also accumulated over 2.3 million views on YouTube, been featured on CMT.com, Country Rebel, Great American Country, Music Choice, parade.com, and even in 200+ Rooms To Go stores across the US. The group became official CMA members in 2019, took part in The National Finals Rodeo Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas, and even performed alongside Dionne Warwick and Rhonda Vincent.

The siblings don’t plan on slowing down any time soon. When asked what their ultimate musical goal is, the group says, “We love playing and creating music. It would be amazing to make a living at it and be able to stay connected through our music. Even now we have diverse interests in life, but when we get together singing – that part feels exactly the same. Performing at the Grand Ole Opry or the mother church (Ryman Auditorium) would be icing on the cake!” We love this group and cannot wait to see what the future holds for this talented band. So be sure to saddle up and become a member of the TRHibe.

Stream their latest song “Constantine” on all digital platforms. You can also keep up with TRHibe by visiting their website and follow along on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
