“We’re always on tour,” front man Nathan Dean said. “We only take like four weekends off a year, so it’s kind of a never-ending tour. We basically live on the tour bus. If we had a zip code for the bus, it would be easier than getting mail delivered at home.”
Nathan Dean & the Damn Band recently released a video filmed by the Cowboy Lifestyle Network of their hit song, “Son of a Gun.” The video was shot at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Mesa, Arizona.
Say hello to Nathan Dean.
To get some inspiration for the song, Nathan and his cowriters made it back to the place where it all started: Rooster’s.Written in early 2011, the song is
a reflection of the band’s personalities.“We just sat down and started strumming something and threw some words out there and just kind of went from there,” Nathan Dean said. “We’re all kind of gypsies – we all come from different parts of the country. We like to have a good time, drink, and have fun and we were like, hey, we’re son’s of guns.”
With a steady beat and catchy lyrics, Nathan Dean & and the Damn Band’s “Son of a Gun” is a perfect Honky Tonk song to take a cruise with or two-step to. A great guitar and harmonica solo with lines like, “Born to do wrong/But trying to do right/Better not catch you in my sights/Cuz I’m a son of a gun,” make this song easy to sing, easy to dance to and sure to become a favorite of country music lovers everywhere.
