A Special Event

Along with great rodeo competition and the chance to meet new friends from around the world, NJHFR contestants have the opportunity to enjoy shooting sports, volleyball, contestant dances, family-oriented activities, church services sponsored by Golden Spur Ministries, and shopping at the NJHFR trade show, as well as visiting area attractions as Des Moines hosts the NJHFR this year. As someone who grew up competing in junior high rodeo and beyond, I always appreciated the effort put into making these events so special for contestants – I imagine that still rings true with contestants today!

Competing for Scholarships & Prizes

The rodeo action isn’t the only thing for contestants to get excited for, either! In addition to competing for more than $80,000 in prizes, 1,200 contestants from 43 U.S. States, 5 Canadian Provinces, Australia, and Mexico will also be competing for more than $200,000 in college scholarships.

Inspiration

If I can summarize the NJHFR in one word, it would be: inspiring. There’s something so nostalgic about watching youth competitors and thinking back to your days being in their shoes. The future of rodeo is definitely in good hands! See you there!
