Going on now, it’s time for the National Little Britches Finals Rodeo in Guthrie, Oklahoma! Having kicked off on the Fourth of July, we are going to see little britches contestants from around the country compete at the Lazy E Arena for the title of event champion and a chance at several prizes to be awarded at the end of the event.

One thing that makes the National Little Britches Rodeo Finals so spectacular is the fact they run two performances a day in order to fit in all of the events and contestants. Some of the events you can expect to find include your standard rodeo events like barrel racing, breakaway, saddle bronc riding, bareback, bull riding, team roping and steer wrestling, but the Little Britches association also offer ribbon roping, steer riding, flag racing, goat tying and pole bending! In 2021 alone, the National Little Britches Rodeo Finals hosted roughly 1613 kids who competed for $380,000 in awards and different college scholarships that were available during the week-long competition. This event is considered the largest youth rodeo in the world that takes place under one roof. You can expect the Finals to continue being hosted at the Lazy E until 2025, the anticipated economic impact is around $20 million. About the National Little Britches Rodeo Association

According to the NLBRA, in 1952, the first annual rodeo for kids was held in Littleton, Colorado and was titled the Little Britches Rodeo. Back then, it was a standalone event, which eventually changed when it became a 501c3 and now sanctions hundreds of events across the country. Each year, over 3,300 kids between ages 5 and 18 compete in 33 states in more than 500 Little Britches rodeos.
