The Navajo County Fair first began in Taylor in 1926. In 1931, County Supervisors voted to relocate the event to Holbrook – a more central location within Navajo County. To support the move, permanent fairgrounds and new facilities were built to host the growing event. Today, the fair committee continues that legacy, working hard to deliver an outstanding experience for both rodeo athletes and attendees who come to enjoy the tradition, excitement, and community spirit of the Navajo County Fair and Rodeo.
The event has also gained national recognition, being featured in World Atlas’ “Best Summer County Fairs In Arizona.” The publication shared, “What makes the Navajo County Fair special is its sense of community. It feels like a town reunion, a classroom showcase, and a Friday night out all rolled into one. If you’re passing through northern Arizona in the fall, make a detour to Holbrook. The fair may only last a few days, but the memories tend to stick around.”
I am excited to share that contestants at the Navajo County Fair and Rodeo will have the opportunity to qualify for the American Rodeo and advance to the Las Vegas West Regional’s Semi Finals! By simply entering the Navajo County Rodeo and scanning a QR code, contestants will be directed to a website where they can register for the American Rodeo. If they place at the Navajo County Fair and Rodeo, they will secure a spot at the Las Vegas West Regional’s Semi Finals, bringing them one step closer to competing in the American Rodeo and the chance to win the million-dollar prize.
Always a fan favorite, make sure to check in to the Navajo County Fair and Rodeo to catch the Demolition Derby, taking place Thursday, September 11th, at the Navajo County Fairgrounds. You can check the Navajo County Fair and Rodeo’s Facebook page for updates.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate and include access to fair attractions. Event tickets will be sold at the box office in front of the event gate.
