NFR Fashion: Adding Glam to Western Trends

Written by

Every December, the Wrangler National Finals (NFR) attracts rodeo’s most stylish socialites and the world’s best athletes to one city, Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas is the perfect catalyst for promoting the professional rodeo industry’s glamorous side that often goes unseen by the rest of the world. Celebrity-worthy social events, such as the Rodeo Fame Fashion Show, the Alexis Bloomer Live show, and the MGM Grand Gold Buckle Zone after party, offer the perfect excuse to unleash your inner fashionista.
Combining today’s western fashion trends with Vegas-worthy statement pieces is guaranteed to make a lasting impression at NFR this year. Pairing fabric textures together, such as sequins with leather, is a trick that stylists use to make their looks amazing. Add a bold statement piece to each outfit, such as a vintage fur coat, a sequined maxi skirt, or a custom hat. This will not only give you the opportunity to show off those never-have-anywhere-to-wear-it pieces in your wardrobe but will serve as a good conversation starter as well!
Since a single statement piece won’t be enough to draw the entire ensemble together, incorporating accessories is essential. A fringe bag, squash blossom necklace or turquoise Concho belt are not only trendy, but also classically timeless and act as the perfect way to westernize a city quality outfit.
Finally, be sure to finish off the getup with a matching hairdo and makeup. Showing up in a great Tasha Palazzi piece with a messy bun and a neutral face not only will take away from the fabulous clothes being worn, but it will leave an unpolished look, which is the style in fashion right now. Similarly, other details like pedicured toes and flashy footwear, though little, can make an enormous difference. So trade in your flats and chiffon for a pair of heels and faux fur, bat your eyes at a cowboy, and kiss him on the cheek as you strut your way into the Thomas and Mack this December! Don’t forget to wink at the paparazzi on the way in!
