It is almost time for the NILE Stock Show and Rodeo in Billings, Montana, taking place October 15-23, 2021 there is something for the whole family! NILE is a non-profit organization, 501(c)5, dedicated to the promotion of livestock, agriculture education, and respect for western culture.
The Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) was originally created and founded by a committee under the Billings Chamber of Commerce in 1966. In 1967 the Public Auction Yards was the first to showcase the Northwest’s vast livestock industry. In 1968, a full blown livestock show with over 250 exhibitors and 600 entries kicked off. The first recorded Northern International Livestock Exposition was made up of livestock shows, horse shows, and rodeo. Those traditions continue today as the NILE has become one of the largest agricultural events of the Northwest. Through the years the NILE Stock Show has always been a show with some of the purest and most influential genetics in the world. The NILE is host to several national cattle breed shows and horse sales.
Who’s ready for a rodeo? Because it’s the start of the PRCA season, the NILE showcases many of the top contestant in the circuit. In 2006, a ranch rodeo was added to the NILE event roster as a fall event. The event took off with huge success, displaying the essence of real American cowboys. In 2009 the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals was established in which winning teams from NILE sanctioned Ranch Rodeos from across the region came to compete for the top honor of being the NILE series champion team. The NILE has three PRCA performances, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 7 p.m. each night in the MetraPark First Interstate Bank Arena.
