  • 1 lb pinto beans
  • 1 sweet onion- chopped
  • 1 ham hock
  • 1 can light beer
  • 1-2 Bay leaves
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Start by soaking beans overnight. After draining and rinsing beans, place in a large pot and cover with water. Add can of beer, chopped onion ham hock, bay leaf and salt & pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 2-3 hours or until beans are tender. If necessary you can add more water as the beans are cooking. When beans are done, remove ham hock and let cool.
