On the Watchlist: Tennessee Whiskey: The Dean Dillon Story

Written by

Surviving the long-haul of the Coronavirus quarantine with stay-at-home orders the last few months here in Arizona, has depleted my TV watchlist on my various streaming apps. Especially considering I haven’t been to a live Western event since Rodeo Scottsdale back in early March. Thankfully, I just came across an excellent music documentary on the great country music artist and songwriter, Mr. Dean Dillon.

The documentary is available to watch for free with an Amazon Prime subscription on Prime Video.

The documentary directed and produced by Cole Claassen isn’t newly released; in fact, it was released in 2017. Nevertheless, it’s worth the watch as country music singer/songwriter Dean Dillon discusses his career, the stories behind the hits, and his collaboration with such stars as George Strait, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton and more.

The country music star delves into his struggles and overcomes his addiction to alcohol and drugs. Dean Dillon gives an incredible testimony of his life and achievements, along with praise from King George and some of the top music artists that have collaborated with him in the past.

Timeless song stories by songwriters are the absolute best. I recommend checking out his Tennessee Whiskey The Musical by visiting his website: tennesseewhiskeythemusical.com.

The CLN Team has run into Dean Dillion over the years on the road, including Las Vegas during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to watch the legend perform live at Loser’s Bar at the MGM Grand after George Strait’s live performances at T-Mobile Arena.

Ned Ledoux & Dean Dillon

But that’s not the only place the CLN Team has spotted Dean Dillon on the rodeo road. Last year, the team ran into him at the Cattlemen’s Days Rodeo and Celebration in Gunnison, Colorado. There he gave a fantastic storytelling performance and concert with Easton Corbin in Crescent Butte, Colorado. It was incredible seeing Dean Dillon and his wife support the Wrangler’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink event last summer.

I hope you enjoy the documentary if you haven’t seen it yet. Check out some of the media we captured at last year’s event in the gallery below.
