Painted Pony Championship Rodeo 2017

Written by

Look forward to a lot of family fun at the PRCA Painted Pony Championship Rodeo in Lake Luzerne, New York, only 5.4 miles west of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains. This edition of the Lake Luzerne Rodeo began on June 30, 2017, and will run at 8:00 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through Labor Day Weekend.
Events
This PRCA Painted Pony Championship Rodeo includes Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bareback Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Calf Roping, Cowgirls Breakaway Racing, Cowgirls Barrel Racing, Animals, and Rodeo Clowns.
Professional cowboys and cowgirls from throughout the nation compete for nightly cash prizes and for a chance to win the year-end trophy buckle. After the rodeo, the Longhorn Saloon has the hottest country music along with drinks, and you can enjoy this wild west feature all night long until the wee hours of the morning.
Texas Style BBQ Buffet
Begin the evening with this fantastic and authentic taste of Texas right in Upstate New York where the Painted Pony’s pitmasters have spent years perfecting the recipes and menus at this a first-rate entertainment and dining facility. Its smoke pits are fired up at dawn and last until after dark so that the meats can cook slow and present a delicious smoky-goodness meal.
Included are generous portions of smoked BBQ Chicken and/or Ribs, Hot Dogs, Salad, Ma’s Creamy Coleslaw, Corn, Pickles, Rootin Tootin Baked Beans, Rolls, Fruit, Gram’s Homemade Apple Crisp, and tea or lemonade.
Tickets
Purchase your general admission tickets online. They are good for whatever day you choose to come. You can attend just the PRCA Painted Pony Championship Rodeo by itself or combine it with the world-famous Texas Style BBQ that is only available at this Lake Luzerne Rodeo starting at 6:00 PM until rodeo time at 8:00 PM. There are varying ticket prices, those ages 12 years old or younger are considered to be children, three years old and under are free, and you can even buy a season pass if you desire.
History of the Rodeo
This long-running and oldest continuous weekly family-entertaining rodeo was started in 1953 by Don “Wild Horse” Baxter. Shawn Graham is the current owner and operator of this Lake Luzerne Rodeo. He purchased it in 2001, improved the grounds, covered the grandstands, and had to rebuild the Longhorn Saloon when it was completley lost in a fire. The Painted Pony now even has a traveling road show up and down the east coast.
Media Team
Covering this PRCA Painted Pony Championship Rodeo and all its exciting events will be the Papa John’s Road Team, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, the Earnhardt Auto Centers, and the Cowboy Lifestyle Network. The Network is proud to be the Number One community and online source for everything Country and Western.
