Parker County Cowboy Camp 2025- female breakaway roper.
Texas! The Western Legacy Project is set to host Parker County Cowboy Camp May 24-26 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Weatherford, Texas. This elite rodeo clinic for high school athletes ages 14-18 will feature an all-star roster of PRCA and WPRA instructors. Registration is open on The Western Legacy Project website.
Students can sign up for any high school rodeo events: bareback riding, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing, pole bending, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding. They will train with livestock and utilize training machines generously provided by Smarty Supply Co.
“This is going to be a chance not only for young people to learn arena skills from the absolute best but also life lessons to help them in the arena,” said Justin McKee, Cowboy Channel anchor and The Western Legacy Project board member. McKee said the students’ experience would also “help them get to know the Lord a bit better… and make some great memories.”
The Parker County Cowboy Camp instructors are committed to mentoring youth in and out of the arena. The 2025 instructors boast a combined 144 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and National Finals Breakaway Roping qualifications and 24 World Championships. These PRCA and WPRA professionals have competed at the highest level and are eager to guide the next generation of rodeo athletes.
“I’m so proud to be able to team up with the Western Legacy project and this star-studded group of champions in, and more importantly, out of the arena,” said Stran Smith, NFR World Champion Calf Roper and The Western Legacy Project board member. “This is a perfect opportunity that we have here- to be able to love on these kids, spend time with them, let them know how much we care about them, and then we can challenge them.”
Instructors include Tuf Cooper, Tilden Hooper, Riley Webb, Josie Conner, Leighton Berry, Holden Myers, Junior Noguiera, Tyler Wade, Wesley Thorp, Hailey Kinsel, Isaac Diaz, Jill Francis, and more. For the full list of instructors, visit thewesternlegacyproject.org/instructors.
The Western Legacy Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the next generation develop their faith and God-given talents both inside and outside the arena.
“I’m incredibly proud of The Western Legacy Project and the amazing, selfless people behind it. Our mission at the cowboy camp is to empower the next generation, but that’s only the start. We’re also launching a men’s conference to challenge and inspire us all to become stronger leaders and grow closer to our Heavenly Father.”
Lee Olsen, The Western Legacy Project president.
