The final stop of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuit before the grand final in Las Vegas will take place in California, specifically at the SAP Center in San Jose. The most fearsome bulls in the Americas will do everything to get the toughest PBR cowboys off their hides during the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) and Cooper Tire Take the Money and Ride tournament, which will unfold from October 21 to the 22.
It’s not everyday that professional rodeo cowboys take over Silicon Valley, and that is exactly what the Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride tournament is all about. The BFTS circuit features bull riders from around the world; this particular stop in San Jose will define the competitors who will be allowed to enter the PBR November Finals in Las Vegas, where the best cowboys will show off their skills for the chance to win the Gold Buckle plus one million dollars.
Current champion Cooper Davis is facing considerable competition from the likes of Silvano Alves, a Brazilian pro rider who dominated the pro circuit from 2011 to 2014. Another Brazilian rider expected to watch for is Guilherme Marchi, a veteran who won the Gold Buckle back in 2008. These experienced riders will in turn have to watch out for American rookies such as Cody Teel, a very skilled young man who has somehow managed to make bull riding look easy.
Tickets for this event can be purchased directly from the PBR.com website; prices will range from $15 to a little over $100. Although the circuit is often televised by CBS in certain markets, there is nothing like the experience of sitting close to the rodeo sands and witnessing the power of these bulls, which are bred, fed and rustled specifically for the purpose of trying to toss cowboys around. Although most riders in this circuit are from the United States and Brazil, others come from Mexico, Canada, Australia, and even New Zealand. All champion bulls are bred in American cattle barns.
The media team in charge of covering the 2017 PBR BFTS Take the Money and Ride will include the Cowboy Lifestyle Network along with the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers, and the Papa John’s Pizza Road Team. The Cowboy Lifestyle Network is the best source for rodeo action as well as information about country and western culture. To learn more, visit https://cowboylifestylenetwork.com
