ARLINGTON, Texas – For the last 30 years, bull riding fans and adrenaline junkies have depended on Professional Bull Riders to keep it hot and bring excellence in contests and innovation. Returning to Arlington after a year without the event due to inconsistent COVID protocols around the world, the PBR Global Cup 2022 is again taking the excitement level up a notch.
With a partnership between Teton Ridge and PBR, the event will unite with The American for the world’s richest weekend in rodeo. The PBR Global Cup is the perfect platform for individuals to not only root on their favorite bull rider but also their favorite team. With six teams, USA Eagles, USA Wolves, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and Brazil, the title could belong to anyone! In 2020, Team USA Eagles defended their home soil to take the win. This year, Team USA Eagles consists of Mason Taylor, Chase Dougherty, Boudreaux Campbell, Stetson Wright, and Dalton Kasel.
Coaches were announced by PBR on Jan. 20 and include successful bull riders that are ready to lead their respective teams. Team USA Eagles will be coached by PBR Ring of Honor inductee Ross Coleman, and the Native American Team USA Wolves will be led by 12-time World Finals qualifier Ryan Dirteater. Leading Team Australia will be four-time Australian Professional Rodeo Champion Eddie Fisher, while three-time World Finals event winner Robson Palermo will coach Team Brazil. Four-time World Finals qualifier Tanner Byrne will take charge of Team Canada, and Team Mexico will be guided by two-time World Finals qualifier Gerardo Venegas.
Before being held in Arlington, the international event took place in Canada in 2017 and Australia in 2018. The 2022 PBR Global Cup will take place at AT&T Stadium for the third time on March 5 at 5:45 p.m. CST. At 10:00 a.m., there will be an opportunity for fans to get up close and personal with some of the best bucking bulls at the Bull Housing Tour. For those that can’t make it to Arlington to cheer for their favorite team, CBS Sports Network will air the event on March 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Tickets for the action-packed team competition are on sale now, starting at $20, on SeatGeek.com. Tickets for the Bull Housing Tour can be purchased for $65/person by calling (800) 732-1727. As an add-on, event tickets can be enhanced with the Elite Experience upgrade for $75. The Elite Experience includes a $20 concession voucher, a commemorative credential and lanyard, a pre-event photo on the bucking chutes, and a Stars of the PBR book.
