Cheyenne Frontier Days, one of the most popular rodeos in the world, wows fans year after year with world-class rodeo action, but this year they’re taking it up a notch as the iconic PBR Last Cowboy Standing event pairs up with “the Daddy of ‘Em All” July 22nd-23rd. Keep reading to learn more about the fan-favorite PBR event!
Unlike a regular PBR Touring Division event where 45 bull riders ride 1 bull the first night of competition, 1 bull the 2nd night of competition, with the top 15 riders who have the highest total score on the 2 bulls they have ridden advancing to the 3rd round of competition, PBR Last Cowboy Standing is an elimination style event. If a rider is able to stay on his bull for 8 seconds he will continue to advance, but if he gets bucked off he is out of the competition. The stakes are certainly high, as only the best bucking bulls in the industry will be at the event.
This is the first year that PBR Last Cowboy Standing will take place in Wyoming. Sean Gleason, PBR CEO, explained the exciting transition from Las Vegas, where the event was previously held, to Cheyenne Frontier Days in a press release saying,
“PBR is thrilled to pair Last Cowboy Standing with one of the world’s greatest rodeo and western sports celebrations. This marquee event extends our premier series schedule into the summer and is sure to be a highlight of the entire PBR season – one every fan will want to experience, and every cowboy will want to win.”
Tickets to the event can be purchased online at pbr.com and cfdrodeo.com.
