, an entertaining annual summer tradition, at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa are back and offer a fun, poolside party every Sunday afternoon through September 4. From 2-6 p.m., enjoy live music, refreshing drinks, and a luxurious pool. Admission is $15 for adults, which includes free entertainment and one drink — beer, wine, or margarita, (excluding top-shelf brands). While you’re there, be sure to get your exclusive souvenir glass! Purchase the glass for $10 and enjoy $6 refills at the pool bar all summer long. Must be age 21 or over with a valid ID to purchase alcohol.
Each week features live entertainment from different bands, including:
- June 26: Desert Beach (variety)
- July 3: Kush County (island reggae style)
- July 10: Margarita Villains (beach party band)
- July 17: Silhouette (jazz, Motown, and contemporary music)
- July 24: Rock Lobster (80’s)
- July 31: Soundwave (dance variety)

Got kids? Children are welcome to come along to enjoy the fun atmosphere of Margarita Sundays and splash in the pool! Children’s admission is only $15 each when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cowboy Lifestyle Network had the opportunity to recently enjoy Margarita Sunday’s. There was a plethora of guests and covered areas to lay down or sit and relax. Even though there were many guests, there was still plenty of room to relax comfortably without feeling over crowded. Cowboy Lifestyle Network observed that the swim-up bar was the biggest hit, people arriving thirsty and leaving satisfied!

Carolyn SostromCarolyn Sostrom is a long-time Arizona resident who loves desert sunsets, warm weather, Zumba, and the Western lifestyle. She attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and then Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Similarly to the protagonist in *The Devil Wears Prada*, Carolyn moved to New York City right after college. She started working for the fashion magazine company Conde Nast but never transitioned to the dark side. After a few years, she left New York in the rearview mirror and returned to her home state, taking a reporter job at the *Apache Junction Independent*. With over 30 years of freelance writing experience, Carolyn especially enjoys writing about community events and profiling individuals who are making a difference in their communities. She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower. She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix. Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
