RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo 2021

Written by

From April 8-10, 2021, more than 200 top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls will compete in the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida at the Silver Spurs Arena. The rodeo is considered the second-largest event in the United States. In Kissimmee, Western athletes vie for more than $1 million in cash in addition to $20,000 vouchers for a brand new RAM truck and a Polaris ATV among other prizes.

History of the RNCFR

The PRCA divided the country into 12 different circuits in 1975. Each circuit contained one to 13 states. By 1987, Dodge became the sponsor of all of the circuits and the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo was born. By 2010, the Dodge brand incorporated the RAM Truck division and the Chrysler Group. However, two years later, the event became known as the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. When the PRCA season comes to an end, the top ranking athletes from across the country have the chance to compete in the circuit finals. The champions of those events go on to compete in the RNCFR.

How it Works

The tournament-style RAM NFCR determines the national circuit champions in each event. The competition produces exciting challenges for the athletes and vivid entertainment for the fans. All 24 qualifiers from the 12 circuits compete in the two preliminary rounds of the rodeo. At that point, the top eight from each event move on to the semifinal round, with all previous scores and times thrown out. The top four move on to the final round – a sudden-death competition that determines the national circuit champion in each event. Because the top four contestants begin with a clean slate in the Wrangler Round, each one has an equal opportunity to claim a RAM NCFR title.

Peter Varlet

Peter Varlet’s the cowboy critic you love to hate, until he’s right. Born during a thunderstorm in 1972 in Bismarck, North Dakota, he grew up watching his WWII vet dad battle to save their farm from corporate claws. Now, Peter’s the unapologetic voice of Western culture, with a historian’s grip on America’s past, acknowledging both its heroes and hypocrites. His truth to power articles are a no-holds-barred zone for rodeo reviews, cowboy movie takedowns, and ranching tricks that work. He’ll tell you why your country singer’s a fraud and how to fix a fence with only baling wire and spite. Peter despises corporate factory farms taking over and cherishes the DIY grit of real Americans. Politically correct? Nope. Trustworthy? Damn straight. He’s saving the West, one brutal truth at a time.
