Nutrena takes huge pride in the community they’ve built and continues to build with their rodeo athletes. This year they have several athletes, even in addition to the ones mentioned below. When it comes to nutrition, these athletes only want the best for their animals, which is why they choose Nutrena. Catch more on these athletes below and where they sit in the standings heading into the Thomas and Mack.
Tyler is heading in as number two in the steer wrestling event for this year’s NFR. He’s had a great season and is coming off a win from last year. Will he take the championship again? Another fan favorite is Dakota Eldridge as he once again gets to see the bright lights of Vegas. Heading into the 2022 NFR, Dakota is sitting number eight in steer wrestling, with hopes to bring some money by winning some individual rounds.
In addition to Dakota and Tyler, there are several other popular names in the Nutrena lineup including J.D. Struxness in the #3 spot, Tanner Brunner in the #10 spot, and Rowdy Parrott in spot #12.
Currently sitting number two in the world standings, John Douch held the number one spot in the world going into the 2022 summer rodeo run. He attended his first National Finals Rodeo last year and has his eyes set on the world championship this year at the NFR. Something that many people who keep up with rodeo often overlook is that he has been raised around this sport his entire life. With a family full of competitive rodeo athletes, Douch has always had the support and upbringing to become a successful cowboy. We can’t wait to see him compete at his second NFR!
In addition to John, there are several other tie-down ropers competing this year including Hunter Herrin in spot #13, Zack Jongbloed in spot #6, and Cory Solomon in the #8 spot.
With 2022 being her seventh trip to the NFR, Stevi Hillman is sitting at number four in the standings for barrel racing. The competition is steep though, Jordon Briggs is at the top of the leaderboard with a solid lead, so it will be interesting to see how the lineup shakes out.
With his first World Title under his belt from last year, Junior is hoping to score once again at the 2022 NFR. This will be Junior’s 9th NFR qualification and we are excited to see him sitting at the top of the standings for heelers. Additionally, header, Dustin Egusquiza is sitting at number six for the headers, Trey Yates (heeler) is in spot #10, and Jonathan Torres (heeler) barely makes the cut at number 15.
Let’s hear it for the ladies of rodeo! JJ and Taylor will both be competing in the lady’s breakaway finals at South Point on November 29 & 30 before the NFR kicks off. Taylor is sitting in the #5 spot coming into the finals and JJ follows her up in spot #12. We can’t wait to see who will come out on top. More about the breakaway finals below!

In addition to the eight standard events of rodeo, you can also enjoy the pole bending competition taking place 6-10th. The YETI Junior World Finals are essentially split in half during the week of the NFR. Then the second half of the week will be the timed events, with the finals taking place on December 10. You can find the full schedule and learn more about tickets here. Be sure to stop by the Nutrena booth to support the young athletes competing in the Jr Worlds Barrel and Poles finals. They’ll be signing autographs throughout that event.
