The 2019 Red Bluff Round-Up is right around the corner and Cowboy Lifestyle Network is proud to welcome you along the rodeo trail as we round-up some rodeo fun in The Golden State.
This April 19th through the 21st, “America’s Original Extreme Sport” is kicking up dirt at the Tehama District Fairgrounds in Red Bluff, California. With a full line-up of top-notch PRCA human and animal athletes alike, the 2019 Red Bluff Round-Up is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The Red Bluff Round-Up is proud to celebrate a long history of professional rodeo that saw its origin in the ranching and agricultural lifestyle of California. When Tehama County cattlemen came together in 1918 to hold a picnic and informal rodeo competition, the tradition of a yearly rodeo established its roots in Tehama County’s community.
In 1920, businessmen and ranchers alike from Red Bluff and Chico, California established the Northern California Round-Up Association. The first few years of rodeo saw an Ebb and Flow of financial success; however, the community was dedicated to their rodeo tradition. In 1926, the Red Bluff Round-Up Association reorganized and held a two-day long spring show that proved paramount. With 10,000 audience members in attendance, the rest was history.
Today the Red Bluff Round-Up is nothing short of the best. Known as the largest 3-day rodeo in the country, the Red Bluff Round-Up has over 600 competitors vying for over $250,000 in prize money. PRCA entertainment kicks off April 19th with Family Night. Gates will open at 5pm and athletes will hit the arena at 7pm sharp. April 20th will supply an afternoon of rodeo fun with a 2:30pm PRCA performance. Gates will open at noon. Wear your pink on Sunday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness for the Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink performance. The performance will begin at 1:30pm.
In addition to the rodeo, the Red Bluff Round-Up has a slew of activities for the entire family to enjoy. From a Wild Pony Race to Mutton Bustin,’ there is plenty to entertain the young cowboys and cowgirls in the family.
For the older family members, the Aaron Watson Concert on April 20th will supply plenty of musical and dancing entertainment. Make sure to throw on those dancin’ boots, hit the floor after Saturday’s rodeo performance, and enjoy one of Billboards #1 Country Music Chart Toppers, Aaron Watson!
With over 350 volunteers each year, the Red Bluff Round-Up is proud to give back to a community that has kept their tradition alive for decades. With over $200,000 going back to the community, the Red Bluff Round-Up Association is actively preserving California’s western heritage. So much so, that the Red Bluff Round-Up even has their own museum! With historical artifacts such as photos, saddles, buckles, chaps, and much more, dating back to the early 1900’s, the Red Bluff Round-Up Museum is keeping their history alive.
Keep an eye on the Red Bluff Round-Up Facebook Page as they share details on the many activities Red Bluff has to offer. From a Golf Tournament, Chili Cook-Off, to the Red Bluff Parade, there is no time to waste this April!
Cowboy Lifestyle Network is proud to celebrate California’s western heritage with the 2019 Red Bluff Round-Up. Saddle up and get ready for the best of the best rodeo action in The Golden State this April 19th-21st.
