Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo 2014 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado

There is a hidden gem that can be found in small towns like Pagosa Springs, Colorado. What is the first thing that comes to your mind? Here at CLN, its all about the rodeo. Sure, the dive bar down the road or the diner up the hill is a great spot and should be of consideration when passing through, but it certainly can’t match what their small town rodeo can deliver.
While on the road to the 2014 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo from Arizona, Cowboy Lifestyle Network stopped to capture “The Event” in Pagosa Springs that is considered the oldest community event of the summer.

Ak-Chin Indian Community and Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team is pleased to bring to you the 63rd Annual Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo. The 3-day event kicked off at the Western Heritage Event Center within the Archuleta County Fairgrounds in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
Cowboy and cowgirls of all ages across the United States competed for prizes and cash money in this very special and intimate rodeo series. Including Mutton Busters, speciality acts and immeasurable rodeo fun for the whole family. Other fun summer activities outside of the rodeo included a parade, carnival, games, reunions, arts & crafts fair and various performances.
The Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo is named after the famous cartoon character, Red Ryder, who originated in a famous comic strip made by the Western artist, Fred Harman. For over 50 years, rodeo fans and spectators have traveled to Pagosa Springs to witness the rich history of this one-of-a-kind rodeo culture. Furthermore, Archuleta County is extremely dedicated to preserving the history and traditions of the American West, particularly by hosting the annual 3-day Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo.
As one of Colorado’s favorite small town rodeos, this is an event that even caught Cowboy Lifestyle Network by surprise while traveling down the rodeo road.
In fact, the CLN Team even ran into JW Kinder, the host of The Arena Round Up and the official rodeo announcer of the 2014 Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo.
The holiday’s county fair was a complete success this year. It is always a great time for the entire family and encourage you to make a stop in Colorado’s beautiful Pagosa Springs for the 2015 Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo celebration.
