Redding Rodeo: A Glimpse into the Past

Inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2016, the Redding Rodeo Committee remains committed to delivering top‑tier professional rodeo action while honoring Northern California’s ranching and agricultural roots. The rodeo’s origins trace back to Sheriff John Balma, whose vision in the 1940s helped establish the 6 Pac Rodeo group which consists of the six major California rodeos that continue to shape the region’s cowboy legacy.
