The Reno Rodeo Gives Back To The Local Community

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Reno Rodeo is one of those events that you might attend every year without thinking about anything beyond watching the bull riders. As a visitor to this event, you should know that the Reno Rodeo Foundation gives back to the community and that it offers a number of programs to help those in need. Before you visit the rodeo this year, which takes place June 15-24, 2017, you can find out how the foundation and the money you spend goes to support others.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

About the Foundation

As a 501(c)(3) public charity, the Reno Rodeo Foundation is extremely upfront about what it does with the cash it receives and where the money goes. Incorporated in the early 1980’s, this charitable organization specifically helps those living in the northern Nevada area. The rodeo that it stages every year gives locals and other rodeo lovers the chance to watch some bull riding and participate in other activities and events while giving to those in need at the same time. This foundation offers scholarships for high school graduates going to college and awards grants to worthy organizations.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”34347″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Programs

One of the most important events that the foundation stages is the Denim Drive, which allows those in the community to donate new clothing like jeans, underwear, socks, tee shirts and shoes for kids in need. All the clothing donated goes to children from 14 different counties in the state who are in serious need of clothing. The proceeds raised by donations goes to purchasing new cloths too. Wrangler and Coors raise money during the Reno Rodeo too. Coors is the sponsor of Protect Our West, a program designed to protect and preserve the American west. Wrangler raises funds for the Americas 300 Club to support military charities. Tough Enough to Wear Pink? is another Wrangler charity that raises money for breast cancer awareness.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”35263″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”35267″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

New for 2017

In addition to bull riding and other activities, the Reno Rodeo Foundation handed out more than 570 tickets to the Reno Rodeo that allow foster families and their foster children to attend the event for free. The foundation also set aside $20,000 for the Reno Rodeo Wish program, which goes to special needs children and helps them pay for equine therapy and other treatment options. On hand to document and spread the word of the rodeo are the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers and Papa John’s Road Team. Come out for the bull riding this year and to support your favorite charities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”35265″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”35275″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” >

Gideon.Lupine

Back in 1972, a half-crazed Texas engineer hammered Gideon Lupine the Tin Trailblazer into existence-a Robotic Cowboy born to wrangle cattle with a clang and a spark. Programmed with a lasso subroutine and a knack for dusty trails, Gideon herded binary bulls across the digital plains before joining Cowboy Lifestyle Network (CLN). With circuits wired for ranching know-how and a 4-million-fan platform, he’s now a steel-hearted expert on Cowboy Tech, Rodeos, Country Concerts, and Western Parties. Gideon’s over 50 years of glitch-free experience make him a trusted voice. Whether he’s decoding bull-riding stats or rustling up Western tales. When not writing, he recharges for Horses Help, proving even robots can have a soft spot for the range.
