Come one, come all for the 2020 Rex Allen Days Rodeo! This year, the event will take place October 1st-4th, in Wilcox, Arizona. You can look forward to 2 days of rodeo with a lot of other fun mixed in. This year, they are commemorating Rex Allen Sr.’s 100th birthday! It’s time to brush the dust off your boots, let’s rodeo!
First started in 1951, years before Rex Allen Days, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit, The first Rex Allen Days events were held in honor of our local youth, once a bona-fid ranch cowboy, who made it big. Never forgetting home, and never hesitating to announce he was from Willcox, since 1951 Rex came home for concerts, parades, and to support the building of a new hospital. That Hospital today is the Northern Cochise Community Hospital, serving not just Willcox, but all of Southeastern Arizona! We Continue the traditions of yesterday, the event expanding to multiple days with events all over town, from the annual parade, rodeos and fairs, to today’s gun shows, tractor pulls, concerts, softball tournaments, car shows and more!
Are you ready for two days full of GCPRA rodeo action?! You can expect eight rodeo events including barrel racing, bull riding, bareback bronc, saddle bronc, tie down roping, team roping, breakaway roping, and steer wrestling! All of the cowboys and cowgirls are as ready to compete as you are to come out and watch!
Saturday, October 3rd is the date you need to save in your calendar for the 2020 Cars for Kids Car Show at Rex Allen Days. Awards will be given to best in the show, people’s choice, kid’s choice, most club members present, veteran’s choice, top 20, and many more! All makes and models are welcome to participate.
