Rodeo Austin 2022

Save the date for Rodeo Austin 2022, taking place between March 12 and March 26, 2022. Cowboys and cowgirls have been gathering for this event since 1938 when it started out as a stock show with animals. There’s nothing like rodeo week in Austin! Heart-pounding action, cowboys and cowgirls leaving it all out on the dirt. Tickets are on sale now with different concert artists every night after the rodeo!

It has since become one of the most anticipated events in Texas, preserving the heritage and rustic lifestyle that includes team roping, mutton bustin’, barrel racing, breakaway roping, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, live music, a livestock show. Rodeo Austin is pleased to offer a discounted Fairgrounds admission ticket for active or retired military personnel as well as all first responders! $10 admission is reduced to $5, March 12 – 26. Must be purchased at the gate, not available online.

Over a hundred artists from around the world of music have shown up in Austin for the concert series in a single event, including Aaron Watson, La Energia Nortena, WALK THE MOON, Melissa Etheridge, Ryan Bingham, Josh Ward, Scotty McCreery, and so many others! Rodeo Austin’s “Kick Open the Chutes” takes place the night before the fifteen-day fair & rodeo officially opens its gates for 2022! This party on the dirt features two live music concerts, rodeo eats, a cash bar, rodeo-inspired games, and a silent auction – all on the arena floor! Check out the website for more information!

Besides the rodeo and concerts, another great opportunity is the fairgrounds. It features the largest carnival in Austin, amazing food, shopping, games, and shows for all members of the family. There’s Kidstown, an expansive petting zoo, the Wild West Show, and even pig races! Attendees will also be able to buy everything from furniture to toys to cowboy hats and boots.

Rodeo Austin still has its traditional live animal stock show with exhibitions from all across Texas. Of course, at the end of the day, it’s all about the rodeo. The best of the best will compete in all the classic rodeo events such as team roping, barrel racing, calf roping, breakaway roping, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding.
