Rodeo De Santa Fe Community Outreach Gives Back to New Mexico

This year’s Rodeo de Santa Fe, one of the top 60 PRCA Rodeos, happens from June 21st through June 24th, 2017 and promises to be an action-packed event. Since 1949, this rodeo has brought thrills and wonder to kids and adults as well as participants. Back in 1949, Roy Butler, Austin “Slim” Green, Gene Petchesky, Paul Rutledge and Paul Ragle wanted Santa Fe to have its own professional event. Last year, contestants numbered more than 500; this year, events include a Mutton Bustin’ Competition for kids and a colorful Rodeo Clown Reunion. Past clowns will don their former costumes and makeup and will be available for autographs and visits to local hospitals and schools. More exciting is the news that many charities will benefit from funds raised from this gathering, including the Boy Scouts of America, The Boys and Girls Club and the Cancer Association.

Wrangler raises money for several charities as well, including “America’s 300 club”, a military charity and Tough Enough to Wear Pink.
Tough Enough to Wear Pink is an organization the supports the fight against breast cancer. Some of the organizations it supports include the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, sponsor of the Komen Race for the Cure.
Everyone Benefits from The Rodeo Fun
In addition to the entertaining Rodeo Clown Reunion, with up to 40 clowns from the past, there will be Ronald Burton, the popular Barrel Man. Bull fighters, Luke Kraut and Kyle O’Hare provide excitement and action. The audience will have much to see at the colorful and joyous Rodeo de Santa Fe and they will be supporting:
