Roots N’ Boots Rodeo Queen Creek AZ 2024: A Cowboy Celebration!

In the heart of Arizona’s scenic landscape lies a town deeply rooted in Western heritage and tradition. Queen Creek, nestled against the backdrop of the Superstition Mountains, is gearing up to host one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Roots N Boots Queen Creek 2024 at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre. This iconic rodeo, which started in 2011, promises a thrilling showcase of cowboy skill, horsemanship, and Western culture like no other.

Celebration of Rich History & Cowboy Legacy

Scheduled to take place from March 13th to 17th, the Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek Rodeo is a celebration of the town’s rich agricultural history and cowboy legacy. From its humble beginnings as a small community event to its current status as a premier rodeo destination, this annual extravaganza has captured the hearts and imaginations of locals and visitors alike.

Traditions of the American West

At the heart of the Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek Rodeo are its action-packed events that pay homage to the time-honored traditions of the American West. Spectators can expect to witness thrilling competitions such as bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, calf roping, and saddle bronc riding.

Family-Friendly Activities

In addition to these thrilling competitions, the Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek Rodeo offers a variety of family-friendly activities and entertainment options for attendees of all ages. The AgTivities and Education area, sponsored by the Arizona Farm Bureau, brings education and hands-on activities to the rodeo for all eventgoers to learn more about Arizona agriculture.

Don’t miss the Equine Meet and Greet, where the Roots N’ Boots Royalty court will offer a chance to meet a horse every day during the rodeo at Barn A. There is no charge, and you will learn about horse dentists, the wide variety of colors horses come in, how much a horse eats, and more. From live music and dancing to children’s rodeo events and petting zoos, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Special Kids Rodeo

A truly unique and wonderful event held each year at the Roots N’ Boots rodeo is the Special Kids Rodeo, sponsored by Chapman Automotive. This event features fun cowboy activities just for special kids! The free event is open to children from 5 years old through high school, who are receiving special education services through their local schools and/or Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) providers.

SKR is scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2024, from 9 am until 1 pm, rain or shine. All activities will take place under cover and on a hard-packed dirt surface that is wheelchair friendly. There is no charge for your child to participate in SKR, but parking is $5 per vehicle. No pre-registration is required for individuals, and groups need to contact us at skr@friendsofhorseshoepark.org to coordinate an arrival time.

Schedule

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the full rodeo performances, meaning all eight events are part of the evening events starting at 7 pm. Sunday’s performance starts at 3 pm, with the gates opening at 2 pm. Wednesday is dedicated to the ladies with the All Women’s Rodeo, which will feature team roping, barrel racing, and breakaway roping, plus youth barrel racing. Thursday is dedicated to the  Roots N’ Chutes bull riding, which showcases not just PRCA bull riders but also some of our local youth rough stock riders.
