Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek is Finally Here!

You heard correct folks! Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek is back again for another year of unforgettable PRCA entertainment. While the bulls and broncs are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, Roots N’ Boots is “More than a Rodeo!”

Since 2011, the Roots N’ Boots Rodeo has been bringing the western heritage of Queen Creek, Arizona to the public with 4 days of non-stop rodeo action, musical entertainment, carnival thrills, and so much more. Presented by Banner Ironwood Medical Center, the 2019 Roots N’ Boots Rodeo has been brought to life once again by the dedicated, Friends of Horseshoe Park Rodeo Committee. Months of planning has brought the best-of-the-best rodeo entertainment to Queen Creek, Arizona for this yearly extravaganza. Saddle up for the ride this March 14th-17th!

Straight from the gate, Roots N’ Boots is involving the community in rodeo weekend. Friends of Queen Creek 4H are proud to present the 5th Annual Open 4D Barrel Race on Thursday, March 14th. Barrel racers from across Arizona and beyond are encouraged to come on out and take part in the competition. Races will begin at 6:30pm. Thursday isn’t only for the barrel racers! Heart Cry Church will also be hosting a Community Roping at 6pm.

Friday, March 15th will kick off at 9am with the Special Kids Rodeo presented by Elite Community Services, L.L.C. This fantastic event is dedicated to providing children with special needs the chance to experience Roots N’ Boots through various rodeo themed activities. A hit each year, this event is highly anticipated in the community. Community Sorting by Friends of 4H will take place during the afternoon. Make sure to get your seats at the rodeo arena for the first PRCA rodeo performance, kicking off at 7pm! The rodeo dance featuring live musical entertainment will take place from 8pm-12am. Cover charge for the dance is $5.00.

Saturday, March 16th will feature the Xtreme Teen Rodeo at 1pm. Kids ages 12-19 will compete in a series of fun animal-oriented events. The younger cowboys and cowgirls will be able to compete in the Kids N’ Kritters event which includes Mutton Bustin’. Make sure to check out the Draft Horse Expo, Sheep Dog Herding Demonstration, and Cornhole Tournament before the second PRCA performance at 7pm. Stick around after the rodeo for night two of the Roots N’ Boots Rodeo Dance.

A series of exciting events will occur each day of Roots N’ Boots activities. Some of these events include the carnival, Parasol Smokewagon Performances, petting zoos, food vendors, shopping vendors, a saloon, Rodeo 101 tours, as well as musical and cultural demonstrations. For a full list of activities, click here! Rodeo fun will close on Sunday, March 17th with the final PRCA performance at 3pm.

Taryn Cantrell

Taryn Cantrell is an Arizona native who has spent many hours in the rodeo arena. Having grown up barrel racing, serving as the 2017 Gilbert Days Rodeo Queen and as a member of the Cowgirls Historical Foundation, Taryn is passionate about her western heritage and all things rodeo. When she’s not on horseback, Taryn can be found playing her bass guitar, painting, and performing around Phoenix with her band. Taryn is a graduate of Arizona State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. Taryn is proud to combine her love of the arts with her love of rodeo and has been honored to sing The National Anthem at various rodeos across the beautiful state of Arizona. Alongside her love for art and music, preserving her western heritage and promoting the sport of rodeo are just two of Taryn’s many passions. Taryn is so honored to share her love of rodeo with Cowboy Lifestyle Network’s wonderful audience.
