[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The community of Queen Creek, Arizona welcomes one and all to experience the fun and excitement of the Roots N Boots Rodeo from March 15 through March 19 at the Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Center. Along with the many PRCA competitive events, there will be action in the arena presented by young western athletes. There are also a wealth of attractions and activities planned, which will no doubt entertain all members of the family.
About Queen Creek
The fairly new town was established in 1989. The unique Queen Creek name is a combination of the names of a mountain-based silver mine and a nearby creek. The name also commemorates Queen Creek’s farming and ranching close association with the land. As horses play a major economic and recreational role in the community, the Roots N Boots pro rodeo was established.
Roots N Boots Events
Each of the four days the festivities take place, PRCA cowboys and cowgirls promise to bring all the thrills and chills which you would expect during the timed pro rodeo events. Non-PRCA participants and little ones also get in on the act. The long lineup includes:
• Bareback and saddle bronc riding
• Barrel racing
• Bull riding
• Calf, tie-down and team roping
• Steer wrestling
• The calf scramble
• Goat tying
• Mutton Bustin
• Pig chase
Additional Activities
Along with the PRCA rodeo, Roots N Boots features a number of other activities and events during the festivities. Enjoy the carnival and midway, shop at the vendor booths and feast in the emporium. The children will be delighted with the petting zoo and pony rides. Take part in the cornhole tournament. Little ones from 3 to 19 have the chance to participate in the Family Rodeo, the Special Kids Rodeo and the Extreme Teen Rodeo. Saturday night brings live entertainment from a variety of acts, which include the AZ Cowboy Mounted Shooters.
On Friday and Saturday nights, a dance floor comes into the picture for the pro rodeo dance from 8:00 P.M. to midnight. The event is family and kid friendly. Music on Friday night will be provided by the Harry Luge Band. The CrossRoad Band performs on Saturday.
