The fairly new town was established in 1989. The unique Queen Creek name is a combination of the names of a mountain-based silver mine and a nearby creek. The name also commemorates Queen Creek’s farming and ranching close association with the land. As horses play a major economic and recreational role in the community, the Roots N Boots pro rodeo was established.
