There is something for everyone at SASSRA this year, February 3 – 19th. Bring the family, bring a date, hang with friends or meet new ones. It’s worth the trip to San Angelo!
Here are some of the most popular events of the stock show:

Rodeo Clown and Rodeo Princess Contest

Children ages 5 to 9 can enter and compete in the clown and princess contest. The contest itself is on Jan 14th at 10 AM. Forms from the rodeo office should be filled out and you should be sure your little winner can be available for the performance they’re chosen for.

Championship Cook Off

Do you love to cook, or do you enjoy eating delicious foods? Enter a team in or attend the rodeo cook off featuring brisket, jalapeno poppers, ribs and chicken. If you think you have the best recipe in San Angelo or the surrounding areas, you may win a belt buckle or plaque as well as bragging rights.
There’s even a Youth Food Challenge in which kids can use their knowledge of cooking to create healthy dishes from a set of predetermined ingredients. This is to raise awareness of chronic disease in relation to healthy eating habits.

AQUA Horse Show

Are you a pro in Trail, Reining, Western Riding, and English classes of horsemanship? You can enter the horse show. You will also have a blast watching the talent of these riders and appreciating these beautifully trained creatures. It’s a good event for all ages and anyone that’s a horse lover.

So Much More at SASSRA!

Other popular events of the stock show include the West TX Boys Ranch Ball, creative arts show, and cinch roping fiesta. You’ll have constant entertainment to include:
Calf cinching, Bareback riding, Bull riding, Saddle bronc riding, Women’s barrel racing, Steer roping, team roping and tie-down roping
The winners in all events will win $12,500! It’s an exciting time for contestants and spectators. If you’ve never been to an event like this, you just don’t know what you’re missing! Now is the perfect time to discover the thrill and fun to be had.
Fairgrounds are also a big hit for all. You’ll find all your favorite rides for a thrill, and of course those tempting fair snacks like elephant ears, pizza, gyros, fries and basically fried everything. Be sure to check Cowboy Lifestyle Network for all the latest updates, or join the SASSRA Facebook page for details.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”27253″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” >

Lindze McNatt

I am currently attending Grand Canyon University. I am studying psychology and hope to graduate in 2019. I am a lover of all animals, people, and food. My 'on the side' passion is singing. Growing up, my grandfather was a rancher and owned many horses and cattle as well as a team roper. Also, I am very appreciative of the 'cowboy world'.
