The annual San Juan Stampede Monticello Rodeo will be held on Thursday, June 7 through Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 117 East Main in Monticello in southeast Utah.
Enjoy the thrill of action-packed events where you witness wild west daring and challenging feats, tests of true grit, fast-paced athletic heroics, amazing horse and rider teamwork, and good-natured fun that have been the same since the wild west days of the first American rodeos of the late 1800s.
This rodeo is sanctioned by the PRCA and the WPRA. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), is the largest and oldest of the world’s rodeo-sanctioning bodies and is the leader in professional rodeo. It is headquartered in Colorado Springs. The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) is the oldest women’s professional association and is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of women in rodeo.
At a 7,000 feet elevation and located on the Colorado Plateau, Monticello, the second most populous of San Juan County cities, has cool summers, colorful falls, and snow-covered winters. Twelve national parks and monuments surround the town, and fantastic vistas overlook what is reported to be some of the world’s most beautiful country.
