Rodeo de Santa Fe 2018

If you are a cowboy or cowgirl in New Mexico who loves to attend a great rodeo, then you won’t want to miss the 69th PRCA Rodeo de Santa Fe 2018. This year’s edition, scheduled for June 20-23, promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s event. Whether you are a rodeo fan who can name every contestant or one who will be attending your first rodeo, there’s no doubt you’ll find plenty of excitement along the way. Along with the more than 500 contestants expected to compete, the Rodeo de Santa Fe 2018 will also feature renowned rodeo announcer Dan Fowlie, who wows audiences around the country with his unique announcing style. And to make sure fans will not miss a single moment of this rodeo’s great action, media coverage will be provided by the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community, and Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team.
Rodeo Events
As with any PRCA-sanctioned event, the 2018 Rodeo de Santa Fe will feature plenty of exciting events to keep fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish. From bull riding and tie-down roping to barrel racing and steer wrestling, there’s no doubt the action will be non-stop each and every night. And along with the standard rodeo events, fans can also look forward to witnessing the incredible roping skills of Tomas Garcilazo, who has performed not only at rodeos around the world, but also at the White House.
Rodeo History
Started in 1949 by rodeo fans Roy Butler, Slim Green, and several others, the Rodeo de Santa Fe was a hit right from the start. Determined to create a rodeo that was big-time, yet still maintained a small-town feel, Roy and his fellow rodeo fans worked tirelessly to create just that. As the rodeo has grown over the years, this PRCA-sanctioned event has become recognized as one of the top 60 PRCA rodeos in the United States.
