Cowboy Lifestyle Network has the honor every year to attend and promote the Scottsdale Rodeo. This year is no different! The 67th annual Parada del Sol Rodeo is March 5-8, at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road. The PRCA-sanctioned rodeo happens at 7 p.m. on March 6, and 7, and 2 p.m. on March 8. Thursday, March 5 showcases bull riding only, starting at 7 p.m.
Many sponsors make the rodeo happen each year, and one of the newest partners is the Scottsdale Charros. This will be the second year that the Charros will be a part of the rodeo fun. We were lucky enough to sit down with the Chairman of the Bullpen, which is the VIP section that the Charros host at Scottsdale Rodeo. Jason has been serving with the Scottsdale Charros for five years, this year being his fifth.
The Scottsdale Charros give over one million dollars a year to over 40 organizations and the Scottsdale School District. They do this through several fundraisers a year as well as hosting Spring Training for the San Francisco Giants. Last year, they were looking for a way to get back to their western heritage and thought what better way to do that than supporting the Scottsdale Rodeo.
We asked Jason what he found most rewarding about the work he does with both the Charros and Scottsdale Rodeo, take a look at his answer.
“The most important thing we can do as a community is know that the next generation, our kids, are well prepared and well educated to go out into the world and help those that needs help, wherever that may be. We provide grants to students, stipends to teachers, grants to schools for computer equipment, social and emotional learning. What we do and how we do it with fun events makes it that much more rewarding, we can do good deeds while having fun.”
Each day at the Scottsdale Rodeo promises thrills and plenty of spills, but there are no better seats in the house than those in the Bull Pen. Tickets are now on sale and you should get yours before they sell out. We want to thank Jason and his whole committee for the work they put into this event and know that Cowboy Lifestyle Network can’t wait to join you out there!
The Scottsdale Charros offers the opportunity to experience this rodeo in a one of a kind way. But there’s a lot more to it than just the Bullpen. The Charro Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that supports Scottsdale’s schools and community in a variety of ways.
The mission of The Charro Foundation is to promote education through scholarships and other educational programming, and to promote youth activities, sports, and cultural enrichment in our community. The Foundation proudly supports this mission by developing programming through partnerships and collaboration with Scottsdale area community organizations.
From all of here at Cowboy Lifestyle Network, we hope that you will join us out at the Scottsdale Rodeo in The Bullpen to enjoy the show!
