The Finale of the PRCA Sioux Falls Rodeo Wrangler Champions Challenge will be held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on September 29 and 30 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is the fourth season of the Wrangler Champions Challenge on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s calendar and will be sponsored by First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard.

Television
CBS Sports Network will broadcast this made-for-TV series, Wrangler Champions Challenge, billed by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association (PRCA) as a mini National Finals Rodeo (NFR) performance. It will go to 61 million households with 90 minutes of coverage of the best contestants competing on rodeo’s best stock. There have been five events leading up to this two-day Finale where a champion will be crowned.
Sioux Falls Rodeo EVENTS
Featured will be seven events: steer wrestling, bull riding, team roping, saddle bronc, bareback, tie-down roping, and barrel racing.
Contestants
The 11 teams are composed of a total of 88 contestants. Of those contestants, 48 have earned their way by finishing in the top six in their respective events, which was determined by the year-end standings in the 2016 World National Finals Rodeo (NFR). The other 40 positions of top contestants are determined according to the 2017 WEATHER GUARD® PRCA World Standings and are decided 14 days prior to the Wrangler Champions Challenge.
Top Performers
Barrelman Keith Isley is a 12-time Clown of the Year, Man In The Can for Coors, and also a comedy act.
Loop Rawlins is a specialty act who has been an award winner five times as a Wild West Show performer and was a finalist on the television reality show, “America’s Got Talent.”
Prize Money
The sport’s superstars and top contestants compete in each event against the world’s best rodeo stock in an outstanding $896,000 team competition. $10,000 in prize money goes to the winners in each event, and $128,000 is given away each night of the events. This amount is among the highest paid of any of the PRCA’s rodeos. Money earned at Wrangler Champions Challenge events counts towards the PRCA world standings.
