Sisters Rodeo 2026

Rodeo News

If you’ve been looking for a sign to go on a summer trip, this is it! And I don’t mean just any summer trip – I’m talking about the legendary Sisters Rodeo. Tucked beneath the pines and breathtaking mountain views of Central Oregon, this small-town tradition returns June 11-15, 2026. Whether you’re a longtime rodeo fan or just looking for a summer getaway with character,

Sisters Rodeo knows how to put on a show – after all, they don’t get their nickname, “The Biggest Little Show in the World,” for no reason!

Rich Oregon History

In 1940, when life in Sisters still moved slowly enough for front-porch conversations and big daydreams, a group of local couples pooled $10,000 together to start a rodeo on the edge of town. Cowboys, both local hands and top contenders, pinned hand-painted numbers to their shirts and rode for purses that matched the Pendleton Round Up and Cheyenne Frontier Days. Impressed that such a small town offered such big prize money, they nicknamed it “The Biggest Little Show in the World,” a title that has stayed with Sister Rodeo ever since.

From the very beginning, Sisters Rodeo was built by the community. Timber donated from the Hitchcock Mill became grandstands and arena fences, volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and the tradition of the Buckaroo Breakfast brought people together before sunrise. What started on borrowed ranchland eventually grew into the rodeo’s permanent 33-acre home east of town in 1979.

“It’s about the rodeo, period. We’re not trying to be a carnival. We’re not doing rides. We’re not trying to be a fair. The focal point is the rodeo.”

Brian Greig,
President of Sisters Rodeo

More than 80 years later, Sisters Rodeo has become one of the premier PRCA rodeos in the country, earning recognition as Columbia River Circuit Rodeo of the Year and national attention from outlets like The New York Times and late-night television. Yet its heart has never changed – it remains an all-volunteer tradition powered by neighbors, families, and generations of dedicated supporters.

What truly sets Sisters Rodeo apart is its commitment to giving back. Each year, the organization contributes more than $50,000 in financial support and in-kind donations to local nonprofits, with a special focus on youth programs and preserving Western heritage.

When tickets in the Blue, Gold, and Red sections are sold out online for rodeo performances, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the Rodeo experience in the new “Red Rock Corral” area.

The Red Rock Corral is the newest improvement to the Sisters Rodeo grounds, providing a limited area for attendees to watch the Rodeo on big screen TVs and enjoy food and drinks in the Corral adjacent to the Rodeo grounds.

Red Rock Corral access can be obtained only on the day of the sold-out performance through the purchase of a wristband ($20), which permits access to the Red Rock Corral and Rodeo grounds concessions, but not arena seating or viewing. Red Rock Corral wristbands will be available and sold only at the Sisters Rodeo Front Entry ticket office beginning 2 hours before the sold-out Rodeo performance (First come/first served). No online purchase is available.
