Toyota Tacoma features power, comfort, utility

What’s in a name? The Toyota Tacoma is Toyota’s version of a compact truck.
Some question what the Tacoma name signifies — whether Toyota named the truck after the town in Washington state. Tacoma is also a Native American word for Mount Rainier, the tallest mountain in Washington. However, according to an article on a Toyota dealership website, the name represents the rugged outdoors, strength and adventure.
You can learn more about the Toyota Tacoma and take a test drive at any Earnhardt Auto Centers dealership, including Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa.
The 2018 Toyota Tacoma boasts numerous safety, resale and best-selling truck awards. It rates #4 among compact pickup trucks, according to US News and World Report’s annual car rankings.
Known for seating comfort, the Toyota Tacoma leads the pack in off-road ability, according to US News and World Report. It’s a good option for those who want a car for both off-roading and daily driving around town.
The Tacoma’s available V6 engine, six-speed transmission and 6800-pound towing capacity give you the power to get the job done. The truck bed is composed of an ultra-durable, fiber-reinforced sheet-molded composite surface. This provides increased strength compared to steel, according to the Toyota website. An optional bed-mounted outlet can keep you connected no matter where you roam.
The available Entune Audio System can link your phone and apps while keeping you up to date on traffic and weather. Optional integrated navigation will help keep you on track.
Even with all these great technological features, Toyota didn’t overlook safety with the Tacoma, making its Star Safety System a standard feature. This package includes vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist and smart stop technology.
Learn more about the Tacoma’s features at Earnhardt Toyota, 6136 E. Auto Loop Avenue in Mesa. When you’re ready for a strong truck for off-roading and everyday trips, you’ll find it in the Toyota Tacoma!
