Masik Tas: “Strengthening our Community Through Unity and Perseverance”
More than just a festival, Masik Tas commemorates the formal recognition of the Ak-Chin Indian Community by the U.S. government in 1961. Now, over six decades later, this tradition continues to bring together tribal members, families, and the public to celebrate heritage, resilience, and community. Masik Tas has become a highlight of the year, and 2025 is set to be one of the biggest celebrations yet! Events include an evening Light Parade, Carnival, Rodeo Events, Concerts, Vaila Dance, traditional performers, demonstrators, and food/arts & crafts vendors!

A fan favorite, the Masik Tas Light Parade, turns West Farrell Road into a dazzling display of lights, floats, and community spirit. Whether you’re marching in it or cheering from the sidelines, this colorful kickoff is a must-see. Sports lovers can look forward to basketball and volleyball tournaments, along with traditional games like Toka and Songivul. Thrilling Rodeo Action and Entertainment
