The American Rodeo is Coming to Globe Life Field!
The American Rodeo is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with a move to Globe Life Field! In a completely reimagined format, fans can expect the same rodeo action taken to the next level for 2023. The American is touted as the “Crown Jewel of Rodeo™,” and this year there will be so much more to enjoy than just one day of western sports action. Let’s take a look at the schedule!
The action kicks off on March 8th with The American Contender Tournament Wild Card where up to 126 rodeo athletes in each discipline will compete for one last chance to advance and earn a spot and the opportunity to compete on one of the world’s biggest stages. These athletes, who have rigorously competed in the previous Regional tournaments, will continue to battle it out for a final spot in the Contender Finals. This event will kick off at 9 am and general admission tickets are only $20!
Following the Wild Card event, The American Contender Tournament Finals will take place on March 9th starting at 6:45 pm. The culmination of a months-long regional qualifying competition, The American Contender Tournament Finals will feature 13 contenders competing for a chance at the final four spots at The American Rodeo on the 11th and a shot at ONE MILLION DOLLARS! There will be one athlete with a wild card for the chance to win at The American Rodeo on Saturday, March 11th. It’s the “Joes vs. Pros” where the underdogs Ride for Glory. For many contestants, The American Rodeo has been life-changing and changed the trajectory of their careers entirely. A few past winners include Richmond Champion, Kaycee Feild, Hailey Kinsel, Shad Mayfield, Jackie Crawford and so many more. Following the event on March 9th, there will be a live concert performance as well that is included in your tickets. There are both general and VIP tickets available for the Tournament Finals on March 9th.
New to the lineup of events this year is the American Performance Horseman, which will be a true testament to equine performance sports. Taking place on Friday, March 10th, for the first time ever, the top five year-end money-earning professionals from the NRCHA, NCHA, and the NRHA will come together in a team format competing for $1,000,000 in prize money.
The competitive exhibition format will fuse the elements of history and competition in an ode to the past, present, and future of western performance horse sports. The unprecedented team concept will see five teams of three athletes, alongside some of the most well-known and respected Quarter Horses in the industry. Each team will consist of a Reiner, Reined Cow Horse professional, and Cutting professional. Check out the full schedule and ticket information for March 10th below!
