The Grand National Rodeo 2019

Written by

The Grand National Rodeo is all set to be one of the biggest rodeo events in the USA!

It is an annual fair which, like other PRCA efforts, is intended to bring the flavor of the West to a modern urban audience. The Grand National Rodeo is organized with the help of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Thus, it is also fair for agriculture. Livestock of every kind is displayed and judged in numerous competitions.

The Grand National Rodeo will take place this year the same place it does every year: Cow Palace in Daly City.

What is the Cow Palace?

The Cow Palace is a large indoor arena that was originally built to house and showcase livestock and agriculture. Over time, the indoor spacing proved to be the right size for rodeo events like the Grand National Rodeo. This is also due to the modern stable and barn arrangements it houses.

The Grand National Rodeo will formally take place on October 11th – 12th & 18th – 19th of this year!

September is almost over so hurry now to book your tickets today for one of the main rodeo events of the year. There are various options available for children and adults. You can buy online or visit us in person.

So, what will there be to do in the Grand National Rodeo? Why should you attend one of the biggest rodeo events of the year? Glad you asked!

Here are a few things that might help further convince you to attend one of the greatest events of all time:

1.    PRCA Pro Rodeo

No PRCA event is complete without the rodeo portion of the R in PRCA. The Grand National Rodeo will have all your usual exciting mix of PRCA approved rodeo events. You can expect to see:

  • Bull riding
  • Barrel racing
  • Steer wrestling
  • Tie-down roping
  • Saddle bronc
  • Bareback riding

So, come on down and indulge your western side with this look at the cowboy life.

2.    Horse Show

The Grand National Rodeo has 3 main events. The second is the horse show.

Showcasing the finest of breeds, this is a must-attend event for equestrian lovers!

The horse show is all about the drill team competition. Teams of horse riders perform together to the beat of the music. Teams can be as small as 4 riders to 20 riders!

Judging is done on these 4 aspects.

  • Execution
  • Variety
  • Uniqueness
  • Horsemanship
  • Overall Appearance

3.    Livestock Show

This completes the trifecta of the major Grand National Rodeo events. Do you love to see the best of farm-raised animals? The livestock show is the event for you!

It has both junior and adult divisions where participants compete for the best-looking animal. Owners are rewarded with prize money for the best-looking livestock animals.

4.    Miss Grand National Rodeo

Something to offer for the ladies too!

This is the premier rodeo queen content for the Grand National Rodeo. A young maiden is chosen from all candidates who best idealizes the western way of life. This young lady aims to promote the Western way of life with all its positives.

Peter Varlet’s the cowboy critic you love to hate, until he’s right. Born during a thunderstorm in 1972 in Bismarck, North Dakota, he grew up watching his WWII vet dad battle to save their farm from corporate claws. Now, Peter’s the unapologetic voice of Western culture, with a historian’s grip on America’s past, acknowledging both its heroes and hypocrites. His truth to power articles are a no-holds-barred zone for rodeo reviews, cowboy movie takedowns, and ranching tricks that work. He’ll tell you why your country singer’s a fraud and how to fix a fence with only baling wire and spite. Peter despises corporate factory farms taking over and cherishes the DIY grit of real Americans. Politically correct? Nope. Trustworthy? Damn straight. He’s saving the West, one brutal truth at a time.
