Created by Kimes Ranch and producer Chris Neal, the Million Dollar Breakaway has quickly established itself as one of the sport’s premier events. With no membership required to compete and a national broadcast on CBS Sports Network, the event has created a major – and much-needed – platform for women in breakaway roping while giving fans a front-row look at the sport’s highest level of competition.

The competition isn’t the only reason to spend an evening at WestWorld! Following the roping on Friday and Saturday nights, the stage comes alive with live music.
Friday night continues with the Logan Ryan Band, bringing its high-energy live show and modern country sound to the WestWorld stage. A powerhouse of Texas Red Dirt Country and Americana, the Logan Ryan Band is led by Texas singer-songwriter Logan Ryan Skloss. Backed by David Elder, Brent Riedel, Garret McKinley, and Leo Morales, Logan’s songwriting blends raw storytelling with influences ranging from Joe Walsh and The Band to Robert Earl Keen and Charlie Robison.
Saturday night features GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM Award-winning artist Ashley McBryde. Her music pairs gritty, full-bodied vocals with sharp storytelling, Southern rock influence, and the honesty of classic country songwriting. The result is a sound that feels both timeless and distinctly her own, showcased through songs like “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” “One Night Standards,” and “The Devil I Know.”

Coastal Qualifier: September 23–24, 2026

The first stop on the road to Scottsdale, held in conjunction with Break-A-Wave in San Luis Obispo, California, and culminating with a one-of-a-kind beachfront performance on Avila Beach.
- Wednesday, September 23, the Million Dollar Breakaway Qualifier at Cal Poly University runs a 2-head format plus a short go ($500 entry fee).
- Thursday, September 24, the top 20 contestants advance to the Broadcast Performance on Avila Beach and secure advancement to the Scottsdale Semi-Finals. The Broadcast Performance carries a guaranteed $30,000 payout over two full rounds and a clean-slate final round: eight contestants advance to the final — top 2 from Round 1, top 2 from Round 2, and top 4 from the aggregate standings.
Canadian Qualifier: October 8–9, 2026

A second qualifying opportunity, held in conjunction with the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The CFR event will utilize the same competition format as the Break-A-Wave Broadcast Performance, providing another opportunity for competitors to compete in a high-profile setting and earn advancement to the Scottsdale Semi-Finals.
Oklahoma’s Richest Qualifier: October 15–17, 2026

Oklahoma’s Richest Qualifier takes place October 15-18, 2026, at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. This $30,000 added event is a major qualification pathway, sending 60 athletes to the MDB Semi-Finals. The winner of Oklahoma’s Richest Finals Performance earns an automatic spot in the 20-woman MDB Finals.
Last Chance Qualifier: November 23-24, 2026

The Last Chance Qualifier for the Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway serves as the high-stakes, final live gateway into the richest breakaway roping event in western sports. Taking place November 23–24 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, this $30,000 added event gives female ropers one ultimate opportunity to secure their spot in the Semi-Finals and fight for a share of the $1,000,000 purse. Open to all contestants with no membership required, the high-pressure qualifier brings together top talent from across the country for a late-season showdown where every fraction of a second can mean the difference between going home or advancing to the big stage.
