Since its founding in 1992, the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) has become a worldwide phenomenon in western sports entertainment. The organization has grown at an exponential rate, but what I find to be the most impressive is their continual innovation – I’m looking at you, PBR Teams. It’s new, fresh, and brings a whole new level of excitement to audiences across the country. One team that has made quite the impression in their short tenure is the New York Mavericks. The Concrete Cowboys have quickly become a fan favorite, and it’s not hard to see why!
The PBR Camping World Team Series debuted in June 2022, marking a transformational change for the sport. What started with eight founding teams playing a 10-weekend regular season culminating in a dramatic postseason tournament has turned into 10 teams facing off in a 35-game season and a dramatic season finale at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Teams have a roster of up to seven “protected roster” riders and up to five “reserve roster” riders. Teams can then use free agency to sign riders to their rosters. During competition, teams have five starters and up to seven riders on their bench. These riders can be subbed in/out of games throughout an event weekend, giving teams flexibility for optimal performance.
Before the New York Mavericks burst onto the scene in 2024, I hadn’t considered New York to be a “western” state. They quickly proved me wrong! With a tough, talented roster and a no-quit attitude, the Mavericks represent everything New York is known for: bold, loud, and impossible to ignore.
They have quickly gained a loyal following for their toughness, passion, and show-stopping performances, both in the arena and beyond. In addition to the move to UBS Arena, the Mavericks are planning a series of community outreach events and promotional appearances to celebrate their transition. Fans can look forward to meet-and-greets with the team, as well as their highly anticipated 2025 homestand on September 18-20, 2025.
“The move to UBS Arena represents an exciting new chapter for the Mavericks and our fans. This state-of-the-art venue will allow us to elevate the energy and spectacle of professional bull riding while bringing the sport closer to even more New Yorkers. We’re thrilled to make UBS Arena our home and can’t wait to welcome fans to an unforgettable experience at our 2025 homestand this September.”

The PBR Camping World Teams Championship is where it all comes together! After a full season of intense matchups and nonstop thrills, the teams meet in Vegas to battle it out for the championship. The Mavericks are not a team you want to discount! They may be newer to the scene, but they’ve more than proved what they’re made of. It’s a high-energy, high-stakes event, and I know the Mavericks are ready to step up and shine. Be there as they battle for the championship buckle!
