The 2026 PBR Teams Season Begins for The Austin Gamblers

Since its start in 1992, Professional Bull Riding (PBR) has grown from a bold idea shared by 20 riders into one of the most-watched sports in the world. What began as a breakaway from traditional rodeo has evolved into a global phenomenon, complete with packed arenas, international talent, and a dedicated league system that mirrors major team sports. Now, as the 2026 PBR Teams season approaches, the excitement begins long before the first gate cracks open in July.

The Draft: Austin Gamblers bring on Lone Veteran Rider

Before the teams hit the dirt, the first major milestone of the year is the PBR Teams Draft. This is where coaches and team managers build their rosters, scout rising talent, and build a foundation that can define an entire season. The draft isn’t just a formality, but an opportunity for new careers to begin, a chance for veteran riders to find fresh opportunities, and for every team to sets its strategy for the months ahead.

The Austin Gamblers entered the June 3 draft with a full roster, prompting head coach Michael Gaffney to focus strictly on protecting the talent they already had rather than gambling on late‑round rookies. With their lineup for the 2026 season already stacked, the team simply didn’t have room to guarantee spots to untested riders. Gaffney’s approach was less about passing on prospects and more about preserving a tightly built, elite core. In doing so, The Gambler’s welcomed veteran Jesse Petri, a proven rider who turned pro in 2016, has three PBR World Finals appearances, and brings valuable Teams experience from his time with the Missouri Thunder, Arizona Ridge Riders, and Texas Rattlers.

Who’s Who on the Austin Gamblers

The Austin Gamblers have built a strong identity in the PBR Teams league, thanks to a roster anchored by some of the most talented riders in the sport. The lineup blends seasoned riders with emerging talent, giving the Gamblers a balanced team capable of stand-out performances throughout the season. With a dedicated coaching staff guiding strategy and development, the Austin Gamblers continue to be a team that fans watch closely year after year. Athletes include Dalton Kasel, Sage Steele Kimzey, Kaique Pacheco, Lucas Divino, Dener Barbosa, Callum Miller, and Vinicius Pinheiro Correa, and Jesse Petri.

Fresh off the PBR World Finals, team members Lucas Divino, Callum Miller, Sage Kimzey, Kaique Pacheco, and Dalton Kasel came out the gate swinging, each making a statement in the arena, with Lucas Divino securing a spot in the top ten.

A New Season Rides In

With the draft complete and rosters taking shape, all eyes now turn to July, when the 2026 PBR Teams League officially kicks off. Ten teams will hit the road for another season of legendary matchups, dramatic rides, and the kind of athletic grit that has made PBR a global force.
