According to a MotorTrend review, the 2020 Highlander features a vertical front end and a shark nose, offering an overall sleeker look. The Highlander still offers plenty of power, with a 295-hp, 263-lb-ft 3.5-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic transition. All-wheel drive is optional, and towing capacity stayed at 5,000 pounds.

Safety features include a digital rearview mirror with a camera. Standard Toyota Safety Sense detects cars, cyclists and pedestrians. Lane assist and adaptive cruise control provide additional safety and comfort. Inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch touchscreen on higher end trims, with the 8-inch touchscreen standard on lower trims. The Highlander is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, on a configurable display.

Wireless charging is standard on XLE and higher end trims, and WiFi is available for up to five devices.

The Highlander also doesn’t skimp on comfort — a heated steering wheel, heated and cooled front leather seats and heated second-row seats are standard on higher-end trims. An available panoramic moon roof extends over the first two rows.

Seating options for the Highlander include second-row captain’s chairs for seven-passenger seating or a bench seat for eight passengers. Second-row passengers can access two USB ports, a 120-volt outlet and climate control. The third row reclines or can fold flat to carry more gear. And Toyota increased cargo room behind the third row from 13.8 to 16.1 cubic feet.
