The Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo (TCFR) is just around the corner and if you want to see this year’s best in the southwest, buy your tickets now! After 21 qualifying sanctioned rodeos in the 2022 rodeo season, the top competitors from Arizona and New Mexico will converge on Camp Verde, Arizona starting November 4th and concluding on November 5th. This circuit final rodeo, along with the others from around the country, determines who will compete in the big daddy of all the rodeos, the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Each event champion from the circuit finals and the overall year-end winners from each circuit are the hard-working individuals who will compete in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas at the beginning of December.
This year’s push to the championship is coming down to the wire in many events, including the Steer Wrestling, where Cimarron Thompson and Rooster Yazzie sit just about even in 2022 earnings. Josh Siggins from Coolidge, Arizona, is looking to unseat Arizona’s legendary team roping (heading) champion, Derrick Begay, with a $3,500 lead in year-end earnings so far. The healing side of that equation also looks a little dicey as Junior Zambrano leads by only $700 over James Gililland.
A highlight for all involved is the 3rd Annual Exceptional Rodeo presented by South 75 Equine Therapy to families from the special needs community. This event gives exceptional kids of all ages a chance to participate in the rodeo through rodeo-themed games and activities. Each kid will receive encouragement and individual support from professional cowboys and cowgirls, rodeo royalty, and youth rodeo athletes. A special awards ceremony is planned to recognize everyone’s accomplishments, involvement, and unique abilities. There are only 30 spots available, so head to the TCFR website to fill out the registration form. This event takes place on November 5th, starting at 9:30 am.
As with most rodeos, the TCFR is a non-profit membership organization to celebrate and continues the American cowboy tradition. The TCFR represents PRCA and WPRA members from Arizona and New Mexico and contributes to the communities close to the event location. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization, and this event isn’t possible without them. Sponsors are another integral part of the success of this event. The Navajo Nation is the featured sponsor for this year’s event and is presented by Bucky’sBucky’s Casino. There are plenty of sponsorship opportunities for your business to be listed.
The Turquoise Circuit Finals kicks off on Friday, November 4th, at 7:00 pm for the first performance. Saturday, November 5th, sees two performances meaning double the fun for you. Catch the afternoon event at 1:00 pm with the evening performance starting at 7:00 pm. If you want to be the first to know who is heading to the NFR from the Turquoise states, then you better get your tickets now!
