For generations, Denver has been a January destination for all kinds of people in the western industry. Between The National Western Stock Show, the Cowboy Down Hill, and the Western & English Sales Association (WESA), Colorado is generally the first big stop of the New Year. Starting in January of 2021 a big piece of that tradition will be relocating and expanding in Dallas, Texas.
Since its foundation in Colorado in 1921 and the first trade show in 1922 the Western and English Sales Association has brought the best retailers, manufacturers, and sales representatives in the Industry together. The Denver Merchandise Mart have been “where the industry meets” since 1965. WESA has built a global audience around its world-class trade shows, attracting over 4,200 retailers to view and purchase the newest products from the absolute best brands in the industry.
Beginning in January 2021 WESA will be expanding and opening new opportunities to everyone involved, at a world-class facility in Dallas. After a lot of consideration of what was best for all of the individuals and businesses involved, the facilities and what Denver had to offer, just couldn’t keep up with the growing needs of the organization.
“What I look forward to most about Dallas, is a new beginning, and a much nicer facility”- Patrick Powers, WESA Vice President
For all of those that have attended, the Denver market, the tradition, and the incredible events that surrounded the trade show will surely be missed. That said, I think everyone is looking forward to what Dallas has to offer and making new memories with industry friends both new and old.
“The only thing I will miss about Denver is the tradition. However, if we don’t move forward we will not be able to grow our businesses” Patrick Powers, WESA Vice President
