Fun in the Arizona Sun
If you’ve spent any time in the East Valley, you probably already know this spot has a story. Long before it became Dink & Dine, it was home to Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill and Cactus Moon. That same energy hasn’t gone anywhere; it’s just been reimagined for something new and fresh!
Located in the heart of Mesa Riverview, Dink & Dine is far more than just a sports venue; it’s a 72,000-square-foot “eatertainment” destination designed to be the community’s ultimate hangout. Built on the site of the legendary Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, the space maintains its high-energy, social roots while introducing a modern, active twist.
Where Play Meets the Plate
The venue’s philosophy is simple: every “dink” (the signature soft shot in pickleball) deserves a “drink.” Unlike exclusive clubs, Dink & Dine is fully open to the public with a “come as you are” vibe that welcomes everyone from seasoned pros to first-time players.
- World-Class Courts: The facility features 13 premier courts, including 10 indoor, climate-controlled courts to escape the Arizona heat and a “show-stopping” stadium court for high-stakes tournament finals.
- Chef-Driven Dining: Forget standard concession food. PaddleHeads Bar & Eatery serves a scratch-made menu ranging from brisket-loaded fries and smoked salmon dip to prime rib beef dips and 3 lb pancakes.
- The Park & Social Hub: Beyond pickleball, the “backyard” atmosphere includes a massive turf area with cornhole, giant Connect Four, and fire pits. It’s also incredibly pet-friendly, featuring a dedicated dog park so your four-legged teammates can join the fun.
Events & Atmosphere
With over 25 TV monitors and a massive LED screen, it has quickly become the East Valley’s premier spot for watch parties from the Super Bowl to the Kentucky Derby. Whether you’re hosting a corporate team-building event in the private Clubhouse (which holds up to 250 guests) or just stopping by for a craft cocktail and live music, Dink & Dine is built for hospitality, community, and unforgettable experiences.
“We set out to build something that didn’t exist in the market. A place where world-class play meets hospitality, community, and entertainment. Every detail at Dink & Dine is designed to deliver an unforgettable experience.”
Ken Gerdau, Co-Founder.
And getting here? Still just as easy. Right off the 101 and 202, it’s a straight shot whether you’re rolling in from Scottsdale, Tempe, or Gilbert. Close enough for a quick stop, but don’t be surprised if you end up staying a while!
Game On: Cornhole Takes Over
The Arizona State Cornhole Championships aren’t just another item on the schedule; they’re where the energy really heats up. The indoor courts turn into a full-on competition zone, with players from all over Arizona showing up ready to dial it in. Every throw matters, and you can feel that focus in the air. But what really sets it apart? The immersive experience is happening around it.
You’re right in the middle of the action – music playing, people moving, the whole festival buzzing around you. It’s competitive, sure, but it’s also loud, social, and a lot more fun than your average cornhole setup!
A Soundtrack Built for Competition
While the games are heating up on the courts, the stage is doing its part to keep the energy rolling. You’re never too far from the music – and honestly, it kind of becomes part of the whole experience. The day kicks off with Western Fusion, setting the tone with a sound that feels right at home in Arizona! Equal parts country roots and modern edge, it’s the kind of start that eases you in while letting you know the day’s only going up from there.
As the brackets heat up, so does the music. Lacey Rashea Duo brings in a smoother, more soulful vibe as the crowd fills in, followed by Bone’s Band, who turn things up with a grittier, more driving sound that you can feel across the venue. By the time the afternoon hits its stride, the energy from the stage and the competition start to feed off each other. Then right as Derby excitement peaks, Marble Heart Band steps in and takes it to another level – big sound and big presence that will pull you out of your seats. As the sun starts to dip, Bobby Joe Bell Duo slows things down just enough to catch your breath before the final push. And closing it all out, Selena Brills Band brings the kind of headline energy that turns a great day into an unforgettable memory.
Throughout it all, the music isn’t separate from the cornhole – it’s part of it. Every throw, every cheer, every close match plays out with a live soundtrack behind it, making the entire experience feel bigger, louder, and a lot more alive.
